My birthday isn't until next week, but I have already cashed in on my birthday through free stuff.
So far I have had
- free Noodles from Noodles and Company
- free entree and brownie bottom pie from Bennigans
- free entree at Damon's
I vow to get my free ice cream on my birthday even though it will probably be really cold.
Also coming up is the free pizza from a local pizzeria.
I love free stuff.
Happy Birthday to my younger sister, Simba's Mom. I hope she has a great birthday. I would like to post a silly picture from when we were little, but i don't seem to have any on this computer.
Today is my birthday. I am now 33. I don't really feel 33 or look 33. No big plans for today. I am actually at work, but that is ok. Today is also my nephew's Birthday. He is 2 today. I like that we share a birthday.
Today started very early. The morning of the Turkey Trot. I was hestitant to run this morning since it was so cold, but my Mom was here and we motivated each other. The race was in Dexter about 30 minutes from my house, so we had to get up early. We got the race and were freezing, but we did it anyway. We had to use the port a potty again. I really hate them, but the real bathroom smelled and we had no choice. The 5k route was on paved trails , which was better then muddy trails, but I miss running on leaves. Because of the cold we had on two long sleeved layers. It was hard to maintain temperature, first I was cold and could hardly even get enough air into my lungs, then half way through i was hot and ended up stripping off the fleece I was wearing. I walked way more then I wanted to as a result of the elements and was really unsure of my time. My mom and I thought we were doing horrible. Come to find out as I reached the 3 mile mark and saw the clock that I was on pace to have a personal best. I picked up the past and I finished in 38.18. My mom finished right behind me. Our times were a minute or more below our previous best.
On top of that My mom won her age group. She rocks.
After the run we headed back to my house and I opened my birthday present. A GARMIN!!! I am excited to use it. We then went to breakfast with the hubby and I had chocolate pancakes.
After that my mom went home, and I headed to my Sister-in-law's piano recital. It was fun to see little kids play the piano. She was really good.
Tomorrow is my birthday...and I have to work, but hopefully I will find something fun to do after.
Today was a very good day. My good friend B and her baby Katie came to play with me. We were celebrating both of our birthdays. It was fun to see Katie, who I haven't seen since she was very tiny. She has grown into quite the little lady. She is very adoreable and has a great personality. Her mom is very patient with her and a great mommy all around. We went shopping and they helped me find a new skirt for a work event I have this week. We also managed to get Katie some cute new shoes. Katie was such an angel during the whole trip. I learned all about putting car seats in and out of the car, which will come in handy some day. After shopping we came back to my apartment where Katie got to explore the Hello kitty bedroom. Her mommy and I split cupcakes from Hillers. Yum. We also exchanged gifts. I got some really cool stuff for scrapbooking, which will be fun to use. This was definitely a great start to my birthday weekend. (ps. there is a photo for friends and family if you login ...well worth it)
Its time for me to make a list of what I want for my birthday (so my hubby can by my present before next Monday) and also to make my christmas list for my mom, my husband and my inlaws. I really should write down things i want through the year so it doesn't come to me trying to remember what it is I wanted all year long.
October went by super fast, but I'm glad it is November. November is my favorite month of the year.
It is my favorite for three reasons. My birthday is in November, I love birthdays. Thanksgiving is in November. Thanksgiving is always a fun holiday with lots of mashed potatoes. My anniversary is in November. I've been married two years.
(I am unsure why I wrote that in third grader 1-2-3-2-3-2-3 prose, but hey it was fun.)
Also, November is National Blog Posting Month and I have signed up to participate. It means one new blog post everyday for the whole month of November. I feel a bit pressured.
Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. The weather was miserable at the start of the day, which was fine since I had three loads of laundry to do in the morning. Football was on at noon and I watch the game, GO BLUE. After football, I had plans to hangout with my friend T who I haven't hung out a ton with since the birth of her son. Luckily we were able to swing a mini girls evening out. We went shopping, had noodles&company for dinner, did a bit more shopping, and then had magnificent cupcakes from Hiller's . It wad a fun mini execursion. Today I am off to run, refreshed from the time change. Then off for breakfast, a relaxing afternoon and then a early dinner with the inlaws for my mother in law's bday. Her birthday is on Halloween, two weeks from mine exactly, too close for comfort sometimes.
I also want wish happy Birthday to B, we will be celebrating our birthdays together soon. I hope she has a great birthday.
Everyone who knows me well, knows that I love presents. The thought of an early birthday present usually excites me. That is until now. Seems as though my inlaws have this grand idea to go on a Mystery Train. It started as something they wanted to do this fall with me just for the fun of it, and has now turned into "oh we think it would be a great birthday present" . It will be my mother inlaw and grandmother inlaw and their friend. Not even someone I want to go. My husband will be babysitting his siblings
Now this is not something I would pick to do for my birthday. And it costs a lot of money. Money I would prefer to spend on other things, but there is really no way to get out of it. I tired saying I really didn't know if it would be fun, but they said oh you never know unless you try. The tickets are booked for this weekend.
I am sure it will possibly be ok, but I am really not looking forward to it.
"Our murder mystery dinner train is a 2 ½ to 3 hour fine dining and entertaining experience aboard a moving train. As the train makes a leisurely 12 mile round trip through the countryside you are served a wonderful five course meal all the while being entertained by our troupe of actors and actresses performing a comical interactive murder mystery. The actors actually ask a passenger to “volunteer” at the beginning of the trip to be their victim. The show is more of a comedy versus a drama and the best way to describe the experience is that it is much like being in the front row at a comedy club, where you are likely to be involved in the show. The show is rated PG-13 and would be considered adult oriented humor. "
