Today was a party for my favorite 1 year old, Katie.
There was a pinata (friends and family login to watch J and katie with the pinata.

and general fun had by all.
I am really glad I decided to take today off. Originally, I was fearing that I would have laundry and household things to do after being gone all weekend in chicago, so I planned the extra day off in. Then Katie and her mommy asked to come visit sometime and I said oh I have Monday off, This plan worked out swimmingly. since my hubby did a load of laundry and kept things mostly in order, I didn't really have many chores to do.
I was able to go out walking and enjoy the day, which helped alliviate some of my muscle soreness. My quadricep muscles are really sore, which I am not used to as a result of running, but I think maybe it was sitting so much in the car and also climbing stairs prehaps as well. Not really sure, anyway the more I move the less they hurt so going out today was good.
Spending time with B has always been fun, and now with little miss Katie in the mix it is even more fun. We had a good day and it helped me relax and not worry about work, and my big week ahead.
I start volunteering tomorrow night, lets hope this weather holds up and that it doesn't rain.
Today I went to a baby shower for a friend who is having twins. The shower was hosted by my friend B, which means one of my favorite babies in the whole world was there. The famous Katherine Grace. The shower was tons of fun, my hubby spent almost the entire time talking to B's dad about sports and politics. They seemed to be fast friends.
The parent's to be got tons of cool baby stuff including the all important butt paste and there was a good turn out. We didn't play games, but instead made onesies for the baby's. Mine said "If you think I'm cute you should see my sister" other cute ones included "I'm the good twin" and "My daddy thinks I'm my sister" .
There was a chocolate fountain and cupcakes, two of my favorites.
I had a great time.
