I would like to say that my absence in blogging has been because I have been away doing tons of fun things, but that is not the case
In reality, I am too busy at work to blog during the day and too tired and grouchy to do it while home.
Here is my week in review
- Got a few inches of snow and I realize how much I hate people who don't shovel or snowblow their sidewalks, but I realized I hate even more the peopel who do it, but do a half -ass job and end up making it too icy to walk on.
- I am glad I bought moonboots left year on winter clearance, I may look silly in pink boots, but they keep my feet warm.
- My garmin still won't sync with my computer. Ended up ordering a replacement part. Crossing fingers that it works.
- Have run 3 times this week. Tuesday, Thursday and Today. It has been snowy all three times and I still am having trouble figuring out why my yaktraks won't stay on right. I need to start increasing my distance and time out, but until it warms up I am not sure that will start.
- Saw three movies this week
- Holiday (cute and recommending as a good romantic comedy for rental)
- Borat (walked out and ended up seeing Casino Royale, not a big bond fan but liked it)
- Daddy's little girl (I got free tickets to this and really enjoyed it, not much like it is show in the previews, definitely more of a drama then a comedy)
- Work as mentioned has been crazy, I have two presentations to put together in less then two weeks, which woudn't be bad if I Didn't have the rest of my work to do.
- I am taking Monday off to volunteer at an event , it should be more fun then work.
I ran this morning. It was the usual cold and snowy. I really like running in the cold and snow. I used to dread getting up to go running, but I like it now. It is peaceful and relazing. I did about 2 miles. I would have probably done longer if I had more time. Also I had a pain in my foot, I had the same pain last night at th gym . I realized it was my new socks that I bought more for fashion then working out. I only wore them today because they were thicker so I thought they would be warmer. Instead the thickness of the socks caused foot pain. OUCH. Lesson learned.
Distance 2.04 miles
pace 14.54
30.28 total time
I glanced today at the 8k training program I had planned to start soon and realized I am probably doing most of it already, so that was good to see. I just need to keep increasing my mileage slowly.
This morning before heading off to a baby shower, I had planned to get a run in. It was really cold and snowy so it took a bit of motivation to get me out there .Today's motivation was that I wanted to not feel too guilty about eatting junk at the shower.
I layered this morning. I wore two layers on my legs to prevent my legs from getting too cold. I wore fleece pants over my running pants. This helped some. The snow was very pretty and the wind not so bad. I think it was only 11 degrees which explains why I didn't stay outside very long.
I had to wait a few minutes for my Garmin to sync, so I was outside a total of 25 minutes I think. My run was about 20 minutes and I went about 1.25 miles. It is amazing how peaceful it is after it snows. I saw a few dog walkers but otherwise it was quiet.
It is very cold here and icy. The icy isn't on the roads but everything else is encased in ice. The trees are beautiful, it looks as though someone has magically turned everything to ice.
This morning I went out for a run. It was really peaceful and beautiful. It has snowed about an half of an inch and it was perfect for running. My only problem was that it was really cold, and my nose kept running.
I also had to maneuver around fallen limbs, which was actually fun.
I almost lost my keys. I usually carry them in my foot pouch road id, which is pretty reliable. I must not have closed it tight because when I went to re-tie my shoes, I noticed my keys were gone. Luckily I knew my route back and my keys were easy enough to find in the snow. I was a bit worried, but there they were freezing in the snow.
The run was good, I did about 1.75 miles in 28 minutes. Not fast, but consistant running so that is good.
its the middle of october and it is 30 degrees and snowing here. Just flurries, but still way too early for snow. I wish I was with my sister in Hawaii.
