I went home to visit my parents last night and ran in the Happy Trails 5k (click for review) today. The race was good, but it was hot. After the race and lunch, I headed back home for a birthday party for the baby of one my friends it was a good party. Pretty low key, most of the families with kids left and we hungout with my friends until about 10. I think I have to work tomorrow so there goes my weekend.
My weeks seem to fly by lately and so do my weekends. I am pretty busy again this weekend, I have a garage sale at my apartment complex tomorrow, the 5k on Sunday and hopefully some relaxing in there somewhere.
Next week is the last week for volunteering and the last week of my running training class as well. I am not sure what I will do with all of my free time.
I am hoping to read, run more and just relax. I may sign up for another running class for summer just to keep me on track, but one may not be offered.
My allergies are still driving me crazy and since I have to get up early to try to sell my junk to someone else , I guess that is all for now.

In addition to the concert, here is a recap of my weekend.
- the mini-inlaws spent the night - luckily they were in good spirits and on good behavior. We had fun.
- spring game with the mini-in-laws although cold, they enjoyed their first exposure to football in the big house.
- went on two weekend runs (visit justkeeprunning.wordpress.com for details)
- avoided doing laundry and chores, I may regret this later.
- only thought about work a little bit.
- We officially signed up for a 10k.
- I ate like crap all weekend, and yet still managed to run 4 miles today.
- I have been fighting a bout of the sniffles the last couple of days. Only real symptoms are nasal congestion and sore throat due to congestion.
- Yesterday I managed to go for a 2 mile run. The weather was nice and I didn't want sniffles to get in the way. The run went well. I was slow, but ran the majority of the 30 minutes that I was out there.
- We went to see Reign Over Me yesterday afternoon, it was good, it is definitely an emotional movie. I was very impressed by Adam Sandler's ability to pull off a drama.
- I also worked on my curriculum for volunteering this coming week. I definitely have appreciation for teachers, and the amount of work that goes into teaching. I was appreciative before, but now I can empathize a lot more.
- Today started off quite dreary, and I slept in until about 9:30 and then I did some work from home, soon the sun was out and I started laundry and while it was doing its thing. I went out for a walk to run some errands.
- It would have been a good day to run, but I didn't want to over do it. I am still feeling a bit groggy.
- We just finished watching Jesus Camp. The movie scared me. It is hard for me to fathom people who are so narrow minded and that there are so many of them. I definitely think it is worth watching.
- Weekends always seem to short. I really wish I had a 5 day weekend and a two day work week.
- I really hate folding socks, why is it that I always lose some. Who has my socks?
- I need to start eatting better, being sick doesn't help. Most time's I'm not hungry and then when I am I want things that aren't good for me.
- Naked Juice is really yummy. My husband's work now carries it and so i have gotten to try a bunch.
It is really cold here today. We even have snow on the ground. I am very glad its Friday today. I am really in need of a long weekend.
In other good news my clothes for my costume should arrive today barring any mix up with UPS.
I hope to go to the gym today for the first time this week. My husband has been too tired to go the rest of the week.
The 5k is Sunday morning and I hope it is warmer by then.
For dinner or brunch on Sunday we plan to go to the place we had our rehersal dinner, which is funny since it will be the same day two years ago we were there.
On our anniversary we are planning on a trip to IKEA. Woohoo.
Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. The weather was miserable at the start of the day, which was fine since I had three loads of laundry to do in the morning. Football was on at noon and I watch the game, GO BLUE. After football, I had plans to hangout with my friend T who I haven't hung out a ton with since the birth of her son. Luckily we were able to swing a mini girls evening out. We went shopping, had noodles&company for dinner, did a bit more shopping, and then had magnificent cupcakes from Hiller's . It wad a fun mini execursion. Today I am off to run, refreshed from the time change. Then off for breakfast, a relaxing afternoon and then a early dinner with the inlaws for my mother in law's bday. Her birthday is on Halloween, two weeks from mine exactly, too close for comfort sometimes.
I also want wish happy Birthday to B, we will be celebrating our birthdays together soon. I hope she has a great birthday.
So I did as promised, no running. My hip is doing ok. Still occasionally sore. I may try the Elliptical Machine tonight we shall see.
Busy weekend. Here are the highlights
Going to Disney on Ice last minute for free with the inlaws, it was fun. (SEE PHOTO ABOVE)
Tigers winning the ALCS
Michigan Beating Penn State (and Auburn beating Florida)
I had to work Sunday afternoon so that cut my weekend short.
I heard about the earthquake in Hawaii while working, luckily my sister and her husband were able to make it off the islands and back home from their honeymoon.
I have been reading vox, but haven't really blogged. Too distractted getting things ready for this week to take the time to do it.
Here is a recap of my weekend
Friday night- skipped the gym as the hubby has a bit of a cold, didn't really do much.
Saturday - went for a two mile walk, watched the football game, GO BLUE and got ready for the mystery train.
The mystery train ended up being a lot more fun then I thought, We got to the small town where it was held really early , we were expecting more post-game traffic. We boarded the train at about 6, and it was set up early nice like a fancy restaurant. We had cheese and crackers to start while waiting for things to get rolling. The actual train ride didn't start until almost 7 so that was alot of waiting. At about 7 they announced how things would go and also the food started. The food was really yummy, 4 courses plus the cheese. We had chili, salad, the entree was either prime rib or chicken with greenbeans almondine and potatoes. My mother in law wasn't sure what to get when she made the reservations so we ended up spliting our entree's which was good. The play itself was entertaining. It is very complicated to explain, but basically we were part of a benefit for a Feline Hair loss syndrome and one of the attendees the CEO of the pet food company sponsoring the case was murdered. Turns out he had put something in the food to cause the problem, and the suspects were all people who wanted revenge for various reasons.
It was very campy and alot of the jokes were definitely meant for adult audiences. It was entertaining. My only real complaint was that it was a really long time to sit in one position. We were on the train from 6-10:30.
Sunday - got up later then usual had a bit of a headache, trying to fight getting a cold. Was going to run but was too full from the food from the night before instead went and got my hair cut and then came home and did laundry and went for a short run of about 15 minutes. I had already done a two mile walk (1 mile each way to get my haircut)
I also started packing. It is so hard to figure out what to wear. I think it is going to be about 60 this weekend so i packed mostly fall stuff. I may need to adjust if the temperature changes.
My hubby had to work all day so we didn't go to the inlaws, so we went to Red Robin and I stopped at target really quickly before heading home to watch prime time tv.
I watched two movies this weekend. The RING 2 and Akeelah and the Bee. Both were good for very different reasons.
Now here is is Monday, only one more day of work. A bunch of stuff to do so off I go.
We went to see two movies this weekend, Invinsible and Da Vinci Code . I would recommend both. Invinsible is the football movie with Marky Mark, which was actually really good. Da Vinci Code was also good, a bit scarier then I excepted.
I also rented Totsi from the library. This was a really interesting movie about a 16 year old thug in Africa who steals a car only to find a baby inside. The movie follows how he deals with this predictament.
After watching two semi graphic movies, I ended up getting awoken at 2am by a noise or my husband being startled, not sure which. Either there was a noise that awoke us both, or he dreamed there was a noise woke up startled and stratled me. Not sure which, but I ended up not sleeping well as a result.
